I have always been an active person, walking my dogs and logging thousands of steps on a pedometer daily with my busy job as a physical therapist. In the past, I would try doing even more exercise to get healthier. I have always enjoyed the endorphins I feel from activity, but there was obviously something missing.
Prior to taking Weekend Weight & Wellness Seminar, I struggled with high cholesterol, glucose and triglycerides. Each year my employer requires a health screening and bases benefit payments on the results. With my unhealthy numbers, I was paying more than I wanted to. In addition, I endured frequent, painful headaches, about 20 times per month. I also had gallbladder issues; I passed two stones and had two surgeries. My doctor told me that I fit the typical profile for someone with gallstones: “fat, female and in her forties.” It wasn’t meant to be taken in an offensive way…It was true, and I was ready to see if changes to my diet could help me feel better.
My life totally changed after going through the weekend seminar. I don’t believe in starving myself or dieting to get healthy. Food has to taste good, otherwise forget it! Right away, I knew this seminar was right for me because it’s all about being satisfied and eating good food. After the seminar, I immediately revamped my kitchen, throwing out processed foods.
Eating the Weight & Wellness Way was the ONLY thing I changed, and within three months I saw amazing results! First off, my health numbers improved significantly. Not only was this an awesome improvement in my health—that I could see as proof in the numbers—it was also great for my wallet! Glucose dropped from 99 to 91, cholesterol dropped from 206 to 156, triglycerides from 163 to 63, I lost 10 pounds and my body fat decreased by 4 percent. My screening results now allow me to pay a lower monthly fee on my health benefits! My doctor told me that the only way to tame my high triglycerides was by doing very high intensity cardio training. My results prove that’s not true.
Another benefit has been with my headaches. I’m down to only five or so per month which is a dramatic improvement for me. When I do have one, it isn’t nearly as bad. In the past, doctors would blame my headaches on the fact that I had a hysterectomy several years ago. According to them, this was the cause and the solution was to take over-the-counter pain relievers, which I popped like candy. Now I know there is another, healthier solution: eating right!
I’m sleeping much better, too. I monitor my sleep with a fitness tracker and in the past, results showed a lot of movement during the night and I never experienced a full night of sound sleep. Now, I feel rested when I get up and am ready to wake up when the alarm goes off. My energy is up, too. I’m not exhausted after work anymore. I can walk my dogs and get everything done that I need to in a day, and at bedtime, I’m ready for a night of sound sleep.
I have the knowledge to live a healthy life even with my gallbladder problems. I have worked hard at this new lifestyle. It takes forethought and planning, but I feel good and the numbers prove it. That makes it worthwhile. I’m so happy that I can look at foods that tempted me in the past (cake, prepackaged cookies and pastries) and say to myself, “that’s not worth it.” I love your program and tell all my patients about it. Thanks for changing my life!
