Top Three Supplements to Boost Your Mood

November 30–December 5 is our Customer Appreciation Sale Week at Nutritional Weight & Wellness—15% off all products, online and in store, all week long! To celebrate and help you make the most of the sale, our nutritionists outlined six common health concerns they hear from clients—and what supplements they’d recommend.
When someone is “feeling off” and just not themselves, we always suggest they get their body balanced by eating the Weight & Wellness Way—animal protein, good fat and carbs at every meal and snack. For better moods, protein is critical, so our first product recommendation is a quality protein powder.
Wellness Whey Protein Powder
Constant low moods often means that you’re not getting enough protein. Our nutritionists recommend adding one scoop of protein powder in a shake or smoothie.
Dynamic Fruits & Greens
To accompany the protein powder we often use a scoop of Dynamic Fruits & Greens. It comes in delicious flavors like berry, chocolate, espresso, strawberry kiwi, mint and pink lemonade. Dynamic Greens bring a ton of antioxidants into your system, which your brain receptors need in order to receive neurotransmitter messages.
Vitamin D
You know how great you feel when you have been in the sun? That’s the vitamin D you’re soaking up. Vitamin D, which is made in the skin, can also create those happiness-inducing brain chemicals like serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins. Too little vitamin D, and we feel depressed, lazy and have little energy.
We recommend that you get your vitamin D level tested to determine how much you should be taking daily. Generally, our nutritionists recommend a supplement of 5,000 IUs per day in the winter and 3,000 IUs per day in the summer to those living north of the equator, like us in Minnesota, and 3,000 IUs per day for those closer to the equator.
If you think you’d benefit from any of the above supplements to boost your mood, stock up and receive 15% off any time between November 30 and December 5.
