Having battled more health issues in a short time span than most people face in their whole life Melanie knows the true power of real food. As a nutritionist she finds true joy from sharing that knowledge with others.
So often people feel at the mercy of their body, which Melanie could relate with. Her interest in nutrition burgeoned when she discovered a passion in the science of the body and the connection and control an individual can take in their own health by effecting change through nutrition.
Melanie put that knowledge to the test in 2005 when, two weeks after having invasive back surgery she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Then just eight months later she discovered and was diagnosed with multiple food allergies that included dairy, gluten, wheat, chocolate and Brazil nuts. After changing her diet to remove her allergy triggers and more, Melanie was able to stop taking three prescription medications and feel better than she had in years.
"After more than 30 years in the field, my passion for nutrition continues. To see a client find relief from pain and exhaustion is a joy. I see their need and can relate to their desperation to get their life back."
Melanie is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian with a Bachelors in Science of Food and Nutrition from the dietetics program at the University of Missouri Columbia.
Melanie sees clients at the Mendota Heights and Lakeville offices.
